Considering the linguistic situation in Bangui, we can hypothesise that the features characterising French spoken in Bangui have emerged from language contact. In what follows we present and analyse an excerpt of spontaneous speech recorded in Bangui in February 2008, which illustrates these different aspects even though it is too short to allow generalisations.
